THE SUMMER OF A LIFETIME

Dear Summer Camp Applicant:

Thank you for your interest in working at Camp Stella Maris. Stella Maris is a Christian camp and holds to the values of the Christian tradition.  We serve approximately 400 campers per week, coming mainly from the Greater Rochester Area.  Each cabin has 12-14 campers, and is supervised by two counselors.  We look for individuals with diverse skills necessary to become successful counselors; individuals who will live and grow in a Christian environment – staff who will be open, honest, and forgiving; positive role models for children and fellow staff.

Also, New York State health regulations state that a counselor at an overnight camp be at least 17 years old. Therefore, you must be 17 on or before June 25, 2017, if interested in becoming a COUNSELOR. Anyone who is 16 or older may apply for kitchen. The minimum age to be on maintenance staff is 18.

In December, we will begin contacting qualified candidates to schedule interviews. All interviews will be conducted at Camp Stella Maris on Saturdays or weekday evenings. Again, thank you for your interest.
